Seriously?

Let me start by telling you that our apartment here in DC has an event calendar. We love that they have things planned for us to take advantage of. Tuesdays are Farmers Market day down the street, Wednesdays are treats in the lobby at 6 pm, and Thursday & Fridays are movie nights. The treats range from coke floats to parfaits, its always a surprise and fun!

Yesterday the kids and I had a very lazy morning! By the time we had breakfast, got ready, snacked, and were ready to head out, it was already 1 pm. We had some errands to do. We needed a few groceries and I was in search of a few storage items for my counter top. We went to Marshall’s where I paid for everything that I left with. If you didn’t get that joke then go read this The Art of Shoplifting. Then we walked over to Costco. I love this store, but you always need to follow this with a regular grocery store stop. So, we went to the closest one, and that is where the kids lost it. They were done. I don’t blame them, it is so boring! When we got into the car they were fighting and I responded like this, “Do y’all think I enjoy this? Do you honestly think I enjoy grocery shopping? I don’t! I hate it. I feel like that’s all I do lately! I am sorry that it has been a boring afternoon, but I did it all today so that we don’t have to leave for anything tomorrow and we can FINALLY take part in the pool games they have on Tuesdays!” Coen replies, “Mom, pool games were today.”

Seriously???? We have been trying to hit those dang pool games since we got here at the end of June. Not only did we miss the pool games, but today is a rainy day! It has been showering on and off all morning and it looks like it will continue throughout the rest of the day! *insert forehead slap here*  Some days you just can’t win! That’s OK though because there is always tomorrow. Unless you are one of those that believes that we only have today.
